(VOLUNTEERING ROLE)
Do you love sharing all the hidden gems that Stirling has to offer or interacting with individuals from all around the world?
If yes, then we are offering a volunteer opportunity for eight individuals between August 9 and 11 2023 during the UCI World Cycling Championship Time Trial races in Stirling.
About the Event
The UCI is the biggest cycling event that will see athletes and supporters from 185 countries. The races will be hosted throughout the central belt of Scotland from Glasgow to Edinburgh, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, and everywhere in between. The time-qualifying events for all categories will take place through the heart of Stirling City Centre bringing upwards of 25,000 visitors to the city. This is where Go Forth Stirling is asking for your help.
About Go Forth Stirling BID
Go Forth Stirling is a Business Improvement District. BIDs are geographically defined areas where businesses invest collectively to delivery improvements supplementing services provided by local authorities.
Stirling BID strives to make Stirling an ideal place for business owners and shoppers to be and delivers business support initiatives, destination marketing, events, safety and beautification schemes.
About the Volunteer Role
With the expectation of thousands of extra visitors in Stirling, Go Forth Stirling is looking for individuals to help the BID Ambassadors make visitors feel welcomed and make the most out of their visit to Stirling.
Volunteers will assist the ambassadors with way-finding, recommending cafes and eateries, highlighting the unique independent businesses that can’t be missed while in Stirling, assisting visitors to medical points if necessary, and overall, interacting with the community.
Volunteer Role Requirements
Some familiarity of Stirling City Centre is beneficial, but not necessary. Before the event, volunteers and Go Forth Ambassadors will meet to discuss expectations and get familiarised with the area.
Volunteers will be supplied with a branded “I’m Here to Help You” t-shirt.
Hours of work will be between 9am and 5pm.
