Get Your Window Decorated for Our Gingerbread Trail

We are planning a Gingerbread Trail for families with children to participate in this holiday season.

We’re working with the talented Ross Hastie to create the trail and hand paint Gingerbread scenes on business windows.

We are looking for 15 businesses that would enjoy having their window decorated for the trail which will run from 18 November until 23 December (windows will be cleaned in January)Please reply to this e-mail to express your interest.

The launch of the Gingerbread trail will be held on the day of the Christmas Lights Switch-on which is Saturday 18th November.

There will only be 15 windows in the trail but we will make sure they are all over the City Centre to promote footfall to all areas.

Other ways to participate

If you don’t want to get your window decorated or your window doesn’t get selected, you can still participate. Here’s how:

  • Plan a gingerbread/Christmas-themed activity or put something on that would entice the trail goers to visit you (e.g. become a Santa’s Hot Chocolate and Cookie Stations, become a Letters to Santa Station, have a prop that trail goers can take photos with, put on a Christmas movie, have gingerbread stencils and organise a decorating contest, etc.).

We will include the information on the trail map and on our dedicated website for the trail.

The trail storyline is:

Mischievous gingerbread spice-e-men have been causing quite a stir with Santa and his elves and are threatening the proceeding of Christmas. The gang of gingerbreads have broken into the North Pole and stolen crucial supplies Santa NEEDS to deliver his presents. Help us find all the missing materials so Santa is not late this Christmas Eve! (children will be asked to find different items in each decorated window.)

Help Us Update Our Christmas Gift Guide

Did you know that we have a gift guide on our website?

We’re currently updating this page and it would help us if you could let us know of any special Christmas gifts, gift vouchers that you have available or simply just any information that you’d like us to include in your listing.

We’d only ask that you keep it brief and to the point, just like the current descriptions.

Helping us update the guide also means, we’ll have information to share on our social media and via our newsletters to the public.
