Go Forth Stirling Offers Support During COVID-19 Crisis

Local traders hit by the COVID-19 crisis are urged to contact Go Forth Stirling for business support.

Go Forth Stirling wants any member whose business has been affected by COVID-19 to get in touch.

We are particularly keen to hear from business owners who want help to access the £320 million package of business support announced by the Scottish Government.

Go Forth Stirling’s Danielle McRorie-Smith said: “This is a challenging and worrying time for our members in the Stirling business community, particularly those in the retail and hospitality sectors, and we want to do all we can to help. COVID-19 will have a major impact on business and the economy over the coming weeks and months and we are focusing all our attention on helping our stakeholders weather this storm.

“We are keen to assist any business looking to access the Scottish Government’s support measures and the Board are currently discussing ways we can further assist Stirling businesses at a local level. We are working closely with all partnership agencies and organisations and will share further information and details of any additional support in the coming days. Please contact us directly by calling or emailing the office in the meantime.”

New measures to limit the impact of COVID-19 on the Scottish business community have been announced by Finance Secretary Kate Forbes. They include rates relief for the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors and an £80 million fund to provide grants of at least £3,000 to small businesses in sectors facing the worst economic impact of COVID-19. Ms Forbes is also writing to local authorities urging them to respond positively to requests from rate payers for payment deferrals for a fixed period.

A national COVID-19 business support helpline has also been set up on 0300 303 0660.
