Introducing Independent Stirling

  • In this newsletter, we asked businesses to tell us what they think about our plans and designs for the new initiative that we call ‘Independent Stirling’, which is all about celebrating and promoting Stirling’s independent businesses.

    This new initiative will include:
  • each independent business displaying a sticker identifying that they are an independent business, so everybody that visits knows.
  • Interactive online map of Stirling’s independent businesses with links to their websites, social media and content about the businesses.
  • Regular marketing.
  • Then, we included information about the Scotland’s £2.75 million Events Recovery Fund, which has been established in conjunction with Scottish Government to help Scotland’s events sector plan and deliver events through to the end of 2021, and to provide support as the industry responds and adapts to the effects of COVID-19.
There are two main routes to funding:
    • £1,000 – £5,000 – Community events
    • £5,000 – £35,00 – Events supporting the visitor economy
The funding covers live events and virtual events.
  • Lastly, we celebrated our success in becoming the Regional Champion in High Street Hero Awards. We were nominated for the “remarkable work” implemented to support Stirling’s business community through the Covid-19 pandemic. Being named a Regional Champion is an honour which encourages us to develop more initiatives and projects.

We also congratulated Stirling Books and Stirling Community Food who have been Highly Commended.
